GOOD MONDAY MORNING A DAY LATE! HAHAHA!

OK,

So I was a little pre-occupied to get an exciting email out yesterday, however, that does NOT mean I am down for the count!

So, here is your Monday morning email a day late!!!!

Just to recap the last week, we have had an amazing time at the Tapestry!

We had the annual Thanksgiving Dinner and a Christmas Movie . I have to say that I have never eaten so much nor laughed so hard! The deep fat fried turkey as always was the BEST! If you didn’t make it this year, you will have to plan to be there next. And I don’t know about you guys, but ELF is one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time! That was just plain fun to watch on the BIG screen.

Also, it IS official, the tax paperwork came in and the Tapestry Reserve is NOT 28 acres, but 50 acres! So, that’s a HUGE surprise and bonus. Can you believe just how GREAT our GOD is?

I hope that everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend, I know I did. Lori and I travelled down to see my parents in North Carolina and it was one of the best times EVER! I had so much fun talking about my childhood and meeting with GOD in my prayer times while on the farm. It just revived my soul. While I was there, I decided that I will be working this year on my life story. So, please keep me in prayer as I continue to write. I have had so many people that have told me that they have received words from the Lord about my writing it. So, I guess it’s time to start sharing the stories, the miracles and the journals.

A HUGE thanks to Fidelis for speaking this weekend and for Daeho jumping in and taking care of all the setup on a moment’s notice since Lori and I were stuck in traffic for OVER 8 1/2 hours. I am just happy we got back in time to go out for dinner with everyone.

A few things to remember are:

1. We have a guest speaker on Sunday who will be talking about Romanian orphans.

2. We have GSF on the 9th.

3. We will be recording the worship during the service on the 10th

4. The Annual Christmas Party is coming up

5. The FIRST EVER payment will be made on the Tapestry Reserve and we are beginning the building planning and the Trust paperwork as we place the land into conservancy.

6. We will be event planning over the next few weeks with the leaders for this next year and we would like your input. Please simply reply to this email if there are things you would like to do this year as a church. EVERYONE can have input. WE WANT YOUR IDEAS!

7. And pray as we prepare the OFFICIAL Tapestry Budget and pray about the ways we will be stepping out this next year financially by faith!

8. Patrick & Fidelis have small groups going during the winter while the rest take a break until January. There will be fun events ocurring in their stead.

9. We will NOT have service DECEMBER 24th. It is a family day! Enjoy!

10. We will be having a coat drive for all the needy. If you have coats, donate. They will be handed out to the homeless by our teams. We especially need men’s coats.

Tapestry, YOU ARE AMAZING!!!

I love you all! You just have no idea how much my heart pours love out when I think of you all. And you guys who have been away for a few weeks, I have missed you and pray for you daily. I look forward to seeing you during this family-filled season.

Well Good Monday Morning to all of YOU!

What a great Sunday Night we had!!! That is the best I have sensed the Spirit in MANY years! If I’m not mistaken, something has started!

Worship Team, you guys rocked. It was such an honor to get my first time singing and playing with all of you. Seung, you did an amazing job actually leading the whole thing and your worship was amazing! The song selection was perfect and I had such an amazing time. I really could feel the Spirit and I know that so many people commented on their experiences.

I am excited, because Fidelis had a great idea and that is to start having prayer ministry time before services at 4PM. I think this is excellent, because it will set the tone of the service and allow anyone who needs special prayer to get it from some of us who are so busy at the end. We can pray for anyone with needs in a smaller, more intimate setting. We will be working out the rest of the details soon.

Also,

DON’T forget Thanksgiving!!! If you have nowhere to go or need time off from the fam., please join us on Thursday night at 5PM at our house. We will be eating and then going to a Christmas movie afterwards. It’s our annual family tradition. If you plan to come, email Lori at: lorihedrick@tapestrychurch.org. And let us know you will be coming. Also, you are welcome to bring a side dish and I will be making my usual Deep Fat Fried Turkey!!!!!

It’s official. Small Groups are taking a rest during the winter. The Prayer small group will most likely still be meeting and the new Silver Spring small group that Patrick is leading will continue on throughout the winter. For more information on those, please contact Patrick or Fidelis. The rest of the small groups will be taking the winter months off for our annual winter break which we do every year as we promote family and fun. We will have more fun events through the winter and hope you can be involved!!!!

December 9th – is GSF and we will be ending with a SPECIAL intimate recording session of the Tapestry WIRED recordings. Plan to come and have a blast. The whole schedule will be posted on the website that weekend. You can check and see times of each event and join us at any time during the day.

December 10, 2006 – We will be recording our songs at the Tapestry Live. This is the first of our Tapestry WIRED recordings. Come ready to participate!!!! We are going to have a ton of fun!!!!

And in case you didn’t know…. We didn’t get 28 acres for the Reserve. I apologize, something went terribly wrong and we just found out that it was mis-calculated and the title says we got 50!!!!!!!

That’s right! We bought 28 and got 50! That’s 40% more than we expected! And we didn’t even pay more! Isn’t GOD GREAT!!!! There will be so much more information on our new plans in the near future.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you guys know about Go Spread Fire for this month. Although GSF is usually the second Saturday of each month, this month we had to postpone the event to Nov. 18. PD and Lori won’t be joining us so we plan on meeting at my place in the city. Here is the schedule:

10:00 am We are going to meet at my place at 10 am to prepare for the day and start cooking for outreach

Please arrive no later than 11 am ( we are going to leave for our first outreach 11 am)

The first outreach is going to be in Langley Park at noon where we will bring lunch to the homeless; this is a part of the homeless ministry that Thao, Hoang and Seung have been working with for the last year.

After homeless outreach we will return home to prepare crafts and game for the kids at Barry Farms. We are leaving for Barry Farms at 2 pm and will return home after 5 pm for dinner. Please feel free to join us at any point, keeping in mind the times we leave for event.

If you want to join us for the whole day we may be able to arrange a shuttle leaving from the Grovesner metro station for those that are coming from MD and don’t want to drive in the city. Let me know if this is something you are interested in.

For those of you who don’t know about GSF, here is a brief description.

GO SPREAD FIRE is an outreach ministry of Tapestry Church. GSF began two years ago under the name Guts to Serve. Basiclly we spend a week each summer doing outreach in the community, think of it as local missions. This past summer we had the most amazing time during GSF that we decided that that we could not limit ourselves to one week a year, but to hold outreach at least once a month! ARRRG! We hope you can join us.
