V3W = Verse | Worship | Words | 4 your Week 2011-1-25

Verse of the Week
(This is a verse we can think about all week long. Let it be something that you use as a focal point throughout your week. Maybe post it somewhere where you see it daily).

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. -Philippians 2:3

Worship for your Week
(This is a short list of a few songs that will hopefully help you as you have your own personal worship time no matter where you are. Even though it is Youtube, you can stream it in your car or while you travel and just listen).

Hands and Feet | Audio Adrenaline | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X0ChjGvjhw&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Thought of the Week
(One of my positive thoughts for the week. My hope is to always lift, equip, inspire and encourage!)

-Now this is a REAL community building attitude right here. I wonder what would happen if we didn't just ask ourselves, "What Would Jesus Do?" and we began to ask ourselves, "What is the Father already doing?" And if we came at that question always framing our present world reality with the fact that we are humble and have come to serve and consider others better than ourselves, I wonder what would really happen to everyone around us. This is not a request for us to belittle ourselves or to start looking down on ourselves and say, "oh… woe is me…" It is a COMMAND to control our self-strong urges toward complacency, arrogance, pride and self-preservation and to lower our eyes, reminding ourselves of the GREATNESS OF JESUS' cross-act and serve. There is a STRENGTH in this activity and it takes the courageous to battle their flesh, feelings and emotions looking past their current reality only to see past their small distractions to see GOD'S GRAND DESIGN for the person next to you.

Who knows. That grandmother could be the next Mother Teresa.
That homeless man may be the next Wall Street trader.
That high school kid may be the next Michael Jordan.
That grocery clerk may be the next lawyer or doctor as they work off shifts to go to school. (And what if they end up being the one that does your open heart surgery in 15 years????)

And maybe they won't be. But even if they aren't… Do you think you may be a part of changing their entire direction in life just with a smile and a true concern about their life experiences?

I think so.

Let's CARE MORE! I am not asking for more action. I am begging for more passion and compassion.

That's just a thought.
Blessings!

GOD’s Overpowering Purpose | Oswald Chambers

I have appeared to you for this purpose . . .-Acts 26:16

The vision Paul had on the road to Damascus was not a passing emotional experience, but a vision that had very clear and emphatic directions for him. And Paul stated, "I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision" (Acts 26:19). Our Lord said to Paul, in effect, "Your whole life is to be overpowered or subdued by Me; you are to have no end, no aim, and no purpose but Mine." And the Lord also says to us, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go . . ." (John 15:16).

When we are born again, if we are spiritual at all, we have visions of what Jesus wants us to be. It is important that I learn not to be "disobedient to the heavenly vision"-not to doubt that it can be attained. It is not enough to give mental assent to the fact that God has redeemed the world, nor even to know that the Holy Spirit can make all that Jesus did a reality in my life. I must have the foundation of a personal relationship with Him. Paul was not given a message or a doctrine to proclaim. He was brought into a vivid, personal, overpowering relationship with Jesus Christ. Acts 26:16 is tremendously compelling ". . . to make you a minister and a witness . . . ." There would be nothing there without a personal relationship. Paul was devoted to a Person, not to a cause. He was absolutely Jesus Christ's. He saw nothing else and he lived for nothing else.

"For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:2).

People Get Ready… | a Thought From pd

For what? I mean seriously, what are we getting ready for?

Get ready for lights, camera, action?
Get ready for, On your mark, get set, go…?
Get ready for the greatest show on earth?
Get ready to see something out of this world… (well sort of maybe…)
Get ready "to Ruuummmbllllleeee!!!!!!!!" ? (Please no spandex.)
Get ready for?

Ok, those are pretty funny.

But these are not…

Beulah land? The sweet by and by? That place beyond the sea? The other side? Till we meet in glory?

Seriously. Do we want to wait for whatever it is that is so great? I hear people singing about these things as if they are a bad thing or as if they are almost ready to quit on this world right now and ready to die so that they can FINALLY GET READY… And what is it that all these hymns are about anyways? Is it about pearly gates and streets of gold? Is that what the goal is? Is that what we long for? Is that what we are preparing for and want?

If so, then I am out. I don't want it anymore. I quit. If it isn't steeped in RELATIONSHIP AND THE EXPERIENCE OF KNOWING AND BEING KNOWN FULLY BY JESUS, I am OUT!

I am getting ready to be known and to know face to face. I am getting ready to hold the hand of the one that made me. I am getting ready to have fullness and no more tears. I am getting ready for a meal with family that spans generations. I am getting ready to be held. I am getting ready to see, hear and touch. I am getting ready to behold Jesus. I am getting ready to hear, "Well Done!" I am getting ready to have perfect relationship in oneness. I am getting ready to dance with the one who dances over me. I am getting ready to swap stories with Paul and Peter and the guys. I am getting ready for rest in relationship. I am getting ready to sing "Holy, Holy, Holy…" I am getting ready to worship and FEEL. I am getting ready for the completion and fullness of all things.

And yet, why wait?
It's all at hand.
The Kingdom of GOD is within arm's reach and is best experienced when two or more are gathered together. Together. What does that mean? Connected.

I want to get ready. But, not wait until the end of time. I want it NOW! AND WE CAN HAVE IT!
I want what only interaction with the eternal can give.
Do you want it too?
Get ready…

Get ready…

How about getting ready for the revelation of the sons and daughters of GOD. And the fulfillment of the Bride of Christ and her being known and knowing her groom? How about we get ready NOW?!

I wanna get ready for that! I wanna live in the light of GETTING READY EVERY DAY! I want to be the wise virgin with her lamp oil filled and plenty to wait out the coming of the bridegroom. I want to be ready!

Let's get ready! And let's LIVE NOW GETTING READY!

The Kingdom of GOD come on earth just like it is in heaven so that when we breathe our last breath or when Jesus splits the sky wide open, we won't have to do much different. It will be like a dance that just goes from the Holy Spirit leading us to Jesus cutting in.

What do you say? Wanna get ready with me?
WOOHOO!
COME ON JESUS!

A Message from Todd

Here I am in the year of 2011 and all I can say is I have been blessed!

Fills like just few days back we left to come to india, so can hardly believe its been 1 month already! I praise GOD because we have saw more than 50 people come to the saving knowledge of Jesus for the first time! They will be with us forever, that is at least if you are a child of God!

We have now got all the shoes and clothes and flip flops passed out and all the sizes correct for 1000 kids!

Praise God Praise God Praise God! Our health was a little on the sick side at the beginning of the year but now we are all well! Praise God!

I am grateful that many of you keep us uplifted in prayer!

That was part of my message last night!

Title was why are we here??

Why do you think we are here!

I have found 3 very scripture based thoughts as to why we are here!

To share

To pray

To witness

I am sure of these 3

There is probably and surely more! But these 3 I would and will bank my life on them!

We find these in the life of Jesus! I do hope you are sharing with others in some way! I do hope you are praying for others in some way! Suppose your husband was deathly sick, wouldn't hope other would pray for them? Yes!! That is the unction of which we ought to pray for others! I also hope you are witnessing for the Lord!

Your daily life is such a witness for others! Hope they are reading the correct version of the Bible thru you!

We love you all and keep lifting us up in prayer!!

There was a hubby and wife celebrating 35 year anniversary! Both was 65 years old! At the romantic dinner setting, a fairy appeared! She said since you have been a example for marriages to follow I will grant you each 1 wish to be granted!

The wife said I would like to see the whole world with my dear husband! Fairy waved wand and poof there was tickets for flights to every airport in the world!

Then husband said, opportunity only comes once in life, so sorry dear and then says to the fairy, I want a wife 30 years younger than me! Fairy shakes her head then shakes her wand and poof the man is suddenly 95 years old! Be careful what you wish for, don't be selfish! Share Gods goodness with others around you! We love you all Todd and family

You Have a Relationship Problem | Seiji Yamashita

Ok I suppose I should say “I” have a relationship problem, because I shouldn’t point a finger out or say “we” when it might be construed as “you” and it’s always more powerful to speak from a first person perspective but I want to make sure I have your attention.  So, let’s be honest.  I DO have a relationship problem and chances are that you do as well.

For myself, my problem really comes from this post (http://justapen.wordpress.com/2011/01/13/supposed-to/) from last week.  For reasons I still can’t really understand, I am fixed on performance based Christianity.  I assume my relationship to the Father is dependent on how many hours of service I perform, how much time I spend in prayer, or how many ministries I’ve managed to start/impact/grow.  To some degree there is actually a biblical basis for this insane misguided understanding of my relationship to the Father.  In the Old Testament Israel is condemned for ignoring the cries of the broken but still bringing offerings to the temple.  In James 2:14 it says “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?  Can his faith save him?”

Now I don’t want to get into an argument of Works versus Grace (as interesting as that may be) because the fact is that works has a role to play in the development and maturation of our faith.  But it isn’t all about works.

Why?

Because works is about us.  At the end of the day, my works are really about me.  A works based faith system is a system that is based on the individual and not on the Father.  A works based faith system is one that relies on the law to tell us which works are good and which are bad.

Essentially, there is no room for Grace, there’s no room for mistakes and learning in a works based system.  There’s no room for relationship in a works based system because we’d all be too busy trying to fill our daily quota or works.  We’d be too busy trying to make sure we stay on the right side of the law.

So my name is Seiji, and I have a relationship problem.  I think it’s all about me and what I have to offer.  I forget that it takes two to have a relationship (or four in this case if you count Jesus and the Holy Spirit) and I refuse to accept that which is offered me.

Vision & Darkness | Oswald Chambers

When the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, horror and great darkness fell upon him -Genesis 15:12

Whenever God gives a vision to a Christian, it is as if He puts him in "the shadow of His hand" (Isaiah 49:2). The saint's duty is to be still and listen. There is a "darkness" that comes from too much light-that is the time to listen. The story of Abram and Hagar in Genesis 16 is an excellent example of listening to so-called good advice during a time of darkness, rather than waiting for God to send the light. When God gives you a vision and darkness follows, wait. God will bring the vision He has given you to reality in your life if you will wait on His timing. Never try to help God fulfill His word. Abram went through thirteen years of silence, but in those years all of his self-sufficiency was destroyed. He grew past the point of relying on his own common sense. Those years of silence were a time of discipline, not a period of God's displeasure. There is never any need to pretend that your life is filled with joy and confidence; just wait upon God and be grounded in Him (see Isaiah 50:10-11).

Do I trust at all in the flesh? Or have I learned to go beyond all confidence in myself and other people of God? Do I trust in books and prayers or other joys in my life? Or have I placed my confidence in God Himself, not in His blessings? "I am Almighty God . . ."- El-Shaddai, the All-Powerful God (Genesis 17:1). The reason we are all being disciplined is that we will know God is real. As soon as God becomes real to us, people pale by comparison, becoming shadows of reality. Nothing that other saints do or say can ever upset the one who is built on God.
