Geithner mess has to be resolved now

Posted by pd on January 14th, 2009

This is not the time for a nasty confirmation fight. If the Senate won’t approve the Treasury Secretary nominee quickly, Obama should find someone else.

You can read the whole story by clicking below, but before you do, I have two things to say…
1 – This is a definite case of integrity and morality. I promise you, it will bite you in the rear if you work in public policy and at the same time don’t LIVE by the highest standards. Mr. Geithner should have known better. Shame on him.

I hope he has learned his lesson and I also hope that he has done everything in his means to rectify the situation, which brings me to the second point…

2 – If we allow this to hold up a needed confirmation that would quickly help our present economic situation whether we like Geithner or not, SHAME ON US! If the man has done everything in his means to fix his indiscretions and he is living above the standard now and we hold his past failures against him, and we do not allow trust and forgiveness, then may all of our hidden sin be brought to light and the world make judgment against us for all that we have done both unforgiven and forgiven!

Now, please hear me. I don’t know if he is the right man for the job and I don’t know all of the details of what is going on, but I DO KNOW that this is NOT the time for partisan politics! So, let us get on the phone to our leaders!!!!!
